Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones and pagers are becoming a concern for us at Palmer as we find them getting in the way of instructional time and are raising concerns during exams. Please review the attached policy and remind your students of these expectations. Thanks for your assistance in this matter.

  • Cell phones must not be visible or turned on at any time during class time or passing time. The only time a cell phone can be used is during a scheduled lunch period in the commons or outside.
  • Calculators on phones are not permitted in classrooms.
  • Staff members will take cell phones and pagers from students if any of the above are violated. Students may pick up confiscated phones at the end of the day from their administrator on first offense. Second offense will result in a call to parents prior to returning it to students. Repeated offenses will result in suspension.
