The first place to start with a question concerning grades, course requirements, policies or behavior is always the Teacher. If there is an issue or problem that cannot be resolved at that level, then the relevant department chairperson or counselor can help. A core value at Palmer High School is that problems get solved and decisions made whenever possible by those who are most immediately affected.
If you have questions regarding scheduling, course selection, or college application, then the person to contact is your assigned Counselor. Linda Jensen is the counselor for 9th grade. Nola Thomasson is the counselor for 10th-12th grade.
Questions about policies or requirements related to the MYP or Diploma programs should go to the appropriate Coordinator. Questions about the Middle Years program (e.g., the application process into 9th grade) should go to Carolyn Derr, at 328-5075. Questions about the Diploma program (e.g., Diploma exam fees) should go to Steve Kern at 328-5078.
If you’re not sure who you need to talk to, a good place to start is Sally Kelly, the Program Secretary at 328-5073. She’ll know how to direct your call.
Contact info for all IB staff members is available at Palmer High School’s webpage.
