Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs)
Colorado law requires an Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) written for all identified GT students in the state. Gary Marx, District GT Coordinator, has mailed home a pre-written ALP to all GT students in the school district. These ALP goals are related to the student’s areas of giftedness - verbal, non-verbal, and/or quantitative – but are rather general in nature. If this goal is adequate, please sign the form and return it to Michael Chamberlin in room 222 at Palmer High School. If the pre-written goal doesn’t meet the needs of a GT student, please make an appointment with Michael Chamberlin, Palmer’s Gifted Resource Teacher (GRT), to discuss appropriate goal(s).
GT Newsletter
Michael Chamberlin, Gifted Resource Teacher (GRT) at Palmer has created a GT Newsletter for Palmer High School. The newsletter will replace the now defunct GT Email Distribution List. If you go to the Palmer HS website, click the Parent link and then the Newsletter link you should be able to sign up for Palmer Gifted and Talented Interest Group Newsletter Publications. If you're already subscribing to a district newsletter publication, you should be able to add the Palmer Gifted and Talented e-News Interest Group newsletter to your subscription. If you have trouble subscribing, please email Phil Goulding for help.
