
Mission Statement
Our mission at
North Middle School is to provide a challenging and engaging curriculum designed
to increase student achievement and develop the whole child. We operate in
partnership with our students, our parents and our community, teaching
self-responsibility and setting age-appropriate expectations in a safe, caring
and compassionate environment. We respond to those students who are not
successful by working to identify and address their diverse needs. North
Middle School goals include:

80% or more of students from each
disaggregated group will score Partially Proficient, Proficient, or Advanced in
math on the March 2007 CSAP. Additionally, the number of students scoring
Unsatisfactory will be reduced by 10%. | |

87% or more of students from each
disaggregated group will score Partially Proficient, Proficient, or Advanced in
reading on the March 2007 CSAP. Additionally, the number of students
scoring Unsatisfactory will be reduced by 10%. | |

70% or more of students from each
disaggregated group will score Partially Proficient, Proficient, or Advanced in
writing on the March 2007 CSAP. Additionally, the number of students
scoring Unsatisfactory will be reduced by 10%. | |

10% of parents of students at North Middle School will become involved through
PTA, the BAAC, and volunteering opportunities. | |

Attendance will increase to a daily average of 95% of students in attendance. |
BAAC
The
Building Accountability and Advisory Committee, works directly with the building
principal and administration to represent the parent and community voice on
questions and concerns about the building. BAAC meetings are held on Tuesday at 5:30pm, in the library.

PTA
The
Parent/Teacher Association, works directly with parents and staff to help
coordinate school events (dances, fund raisers, carnival).
PTA meetings are held on the third Tuesdays of each month from 6:30 to 7:30pm, in the library.

Parent Volunteers
Parent Volunteers assist in PTA events,
chaperone field trips, and assist teachers in the classroom.
