The Monroe staff works diligently to meet district and state standards, and we have invested heavily in staff development efforts to promote student achievement.

The majority of our extra-curricular opportunities provide students with additional focus on academic growth and achievement.

School District 11's mission is to prepare productive citizens who can communicate effectively, gather and use information, make precise decisions, accept individual differences and adapt to the challenges of the future.  James Monroe Elementary School supports this mission through enthusiastic commitment to lifelong learning in an environment that provides not only for academic needs, but also for the social, physical, and emotional needs of students.
