COMPUTER ACCESS

Computers can be found throughout the building in classrooms and lab sites.  Students are welcome to use the technology in any of these areas when the room is open, the technology is not in use and the student has been approved for Internet access.  Students must use their own data disk if they wish to save documents they have created.  Use of any technology automatically shows your agreement to follow the technology guidelines below.

Students will:

  • NOT eat or drink around ANY technology at Mitchell.
  • NOT copy or download programs without specific permission.
  • NOT play games.
  • NOT use e-mail.
  • NOT destroy any part of any technology.
  • NOT change existing files.
  • Identify themselves when asked.
  • Catalog disks, list programs, and explain what they are working on when asked.
  • Use the computer for legitimate purposes, i.e. creating class projects, working on extra credit, or helping staff with special projects.

Violation of the technology rules will result in the confiscation of the student's disk, suspension of technology use privileges, or other disciplinary action.  Students damaging technology will pay for the repair or replacement of that technology.
