College in Colorado College Application Week

November 1 – November 8, 2009

Colorado High School Seniors can apply to college for free

The goal is to make sure that every senior has the opportunity to make their dream of a college degree a reality. For more information, and a list of participating schools, please visit www.CollegInColorado.org

Important Deadline Information for Sophomore Students and Parents

The PLAN will be given on Wednesday, the 4th of November starting at 7:30 a.m. at Mitchell High School in room #12. The cost to take the Plan is $17.00. We encourage all 10th grades students to participate with the test.  Taking the PLAN will benefit students with the following:

1.       Taking the PLAN is a great way to prepare for the ACT.  In fact, students who take PLAN tend to score higher on the ACT than students who do not take PLAN.

2.       It covers the same subjects – English, mathematics, reading, and science – and provides an estimated ACT score.

3.       PLAN points out academic strengths and areas where improvement is needed and lets students know if they’re on track for college.

4.       PLAN helps them find careers that match their interest and even helps connect them with colleges interested in them.

5.       PLAN, also includes a 72-interest inventory that asks questions about the types of work tasks students would or would not like to do.

The cost is $17.00.  Students should pay the business office and bring the receipt to Mrs. Weil in the counseling office.  They will get the study materials and more information.
