Our Counselors here provide the following services for all students:

They provide personal, academic, and career counseling in both an individual and group setting.

Consult with students, parent(s) and staff about each students academic and personal progress and/or concerns.

Monitor and inform students and parents of the student's progress towards graduation and alternative methods of learning.

Make guidance information accessible to all students.

Provide course information to all students.

Arrange for student/parent/teacher conferences when appropriate.

Facilitate student career planning, registration and scheduling.

Provide assistance for the placement of students in special programs.

Provide an appointment system that will enable a student to see his/her counselor.

Write recommendations and/or evaluations for students upon request and assist with the college application process.

Provide liaison services between students and representatives of outside agencies.

Provide orientation for all students new to the school.

Assist in the identification of students who are potential drop-outs and provide appropriate support or refer to appropriate programs.

Provide an exit interview, when possible for students who are terminating their education or transferring to another high school.

Assist in the coordination and administration of the district's testing program and interpretation of test results.

Establish and maintain a career center designed to help students in career planning.

Provide information about college, vocational schools, and/or career opportunities. (*College Night & *Career Fair)

Assist with college, career, scholarship, and financial aid information for students and parents.  It is the student's/parent's responsibility to secure information regarding scholarships and financial aid.  The following services are provided to assist you:

  • Financial Aid Night.

  • GIS Computer search.

  • ACT/SAT study sessions.

Provide information and counseling regarding post high school options.

Refer students and/or their parents to district resources and/or provide information about community resources when special services are requested or needed.
