Mitchell High School Academic Programs

ACE
ACE is a work experience program that teaches and provides the practice of skills that will allow each student to become as successful and independent as possible.

Air Force JROTC
AFJROTC is an elective course open to all students.  This course is divided into two areas; Aerospace Science and Leadership Education.

CBI
CBI is threefold with emphasis on vocational skills, academic in mainstreamed classes, and in the community for job training skills.

Cisco Networking
The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a partnership between Cisco Systems, education, business, government, and community organizations around the world.

ECP
Early Childhood Professions is offered as an honors class providing a challenging, interesting curriculum that will allow better understanding toward children and how they think.

Foreign Exchange
Foreign Exchange students come from all over the world and will live with a host family- usually a whole school year.

Gifted and Talented
The Gifted/Talented Program at Mitchell High School is dedicated to promoting high academic achievement for all students; to providing meaningful and challenging learning experiences; to facilitating talent development;  to encouraging social and emotional growth; to supporting future planning;  and to developing habits of good citizenship.

Project Lead the Way
Project Lead the Way seeks to create dynamic partnerships with our nation’s schools to prepare an increasing and more diverse group of students to be successful in engineering and engineering technology programs.

Pro Start
Pro Start provides opportunities to learn skills needed to succeed in food services and hotel management careers.

Wheels of Learning
The nationally accredited Wheels of Learning program is modular in format and built on industry-wide competency standards. Covering 25 different craft areas, Wheels of Learning is considered the benchmark for craft training in the construction industry.

 

Mitchell High School Mission

The parents, students and staff of Mitchell High School believe that all students will learn in our safe, academically rigorous environment, which is driven by high expectations and standards-based instruction. Our Staff will work with parents and community members in developing students who are responsible, literate and caring citizens. 

We value our diverse student body. We will collaborate in our learning community to address the various educational needs of our students. We accept no excuses for failure as we prepare students for post-secondary experiences.
