meeting called to order at 6:06 pm.

The
June minutes were approved by Angela and seconded by Linda.
Doug
welcomed everyone for the first meeting of the new school year.
Treasurer
Membership
- Laura made membership
cards with punches for 10 free popcorns at Mitchell concessions. It was
decided that members could buy more than 1 card for the free popcorn if
they would like to. We will keep extra cards at concessions and
merchandise.
Concessions
- Joanne said Sky Sox
concessions are going really well. There was some confusion about some
volunteers from Palmer helping at the stand. They are only filling in when
needed and for volunteer time, they will not receive any of the profits.
- She is looking for
some of the sports teams to help August 22nd – Sept 3rd.
This is the last 2 weeks of the season. Laura Pitcher is the scheduler and
the one to contact to volunteer.
- Joanne has the dates
for volleyball games and needs volunteers to work the concession stand at
Mitchell. Her number is 719-313-3590.
- Booster Club would
also like to volunteer to work at Garry Barry football games if there are
any openings.
Clothing Sales
- Laurie Hylle will not
be in charge of the merchandise anymore. We need someone to take her
place.
- She thinks we still
have a lot of merchandise left. Maybe the only things to order more of are
sweatpants and polo t-shirts for teachers.
- Brett will arrange to
have a new lock and key made for the merchandise closet since the old one
is missing.
Old Business
- Angela is still
working on the by-laws.
- We decided to do
teacher appreciation on Friday, Sept 18. Debb and Laura will help. We will
talk about this some more at the next meeting.
New Business
- We will sell drinks, snacks
and merchandise at the same table at registration August 6 & 7th.
Joanne and Becky will work Thursday and Friday mornings, with Angela
working Friday morning too. Laura, Joanne, and Doug will work the
afternoon shifts.
Open Discussions
- Open House is on
Tuesday, Aug 25th at 6 pm. We need to have a merchandise table
set up by 5:15 pm. Laurie, Laura, and Linda will work.
- Linda will look into
doing a McDonalds fundraiser for Sept. Laurie will look into Gunther
Toodies for Oct. and Doug will try Applebees for Nov.
Athletic Director
- Fall sports kick off
will be on Wed, Aug 26th at 6 pm. We will sell hot dogs, chips.
cookies and drinks for $1.00 each. We also will need plates, napkins,
foil, ketchup, and mustard. Doug, Margie, Linda, Laura, And Laurie will
help and set up by 5:30.
- There are 5 new head
coaches this year; Brett Humphrey for boy’s soccer, Tamara McGee for girl’s
basketball, Jeff Cooks for boy’s basketball, Brett Humphrey also for
baseball, and Archie Malloy for boys and girls track.
- The Booster Club
should probably meet with all the coaches sometime in October.
- It will cost about
$8100.00 for a new dual softball/baseball scoreboard.
The next meeting will be
on August 31 at 6 pm. This
is a change because of the Labor Day holiday the following weekend.
