UNIFORM POLICY

WHAT DO THE STUDENTS WEAR?

Tops:

bulletSolid color, collared polo shirts, long or short sleeved. Preferred colors are navy, red, light blue, yellow, burgundy, white or hunter green.
bullet Solid color (same as above) oxford shirts, long or short sleeved.
bulletTurtlenecks may be worn under a polo or oxford shirt, or sweater.

Sweaters/sweatshirts:

bulletSolid colors only.
bulletSweatshirts with school logo.
bulletV-neck, crewneck, cardigan sweaters or vests in solid color, with or without school logo. No other logo is permitted.

 

Bottoms:

bulletNavy or khaki twill, pique, or cotton/cotton blend pants (no denim, no patch pockets, no sweatpants, no leggings).
bulletPants, walking shorts (just above the knee), skirts, skorts, overalls (knee length or longer), or jumpers.

As weather becomes colder, students may wear a coat of their choice.

There is not a "uniform" shoe, but students are discouraged from wearing sandals. Athletic shoes are the best choice for school activities.

Exceptions:

The students will not be required to wear the school uniform on the following days:

bulletThe school T-shirt or sweatshirt may be worn on Fridays, "Midland Spirit Day" with classic bluejeans. (no holes, tears, logos, or baggies)
bulletIndividual school picture day 
bulletLast day of school, "Dress Up Day."

Reminders:

  1. All clothing must be clearly marked with child’s name inside.
  2. No shirts with slogans or pictures.
  3. No caps or hats inside school building during school hours or at school activities.
  4. When there is a possibility of rain or snow, students are asked to come with appropriate gear in order to allow them to go outside for fresh air during the day. We go outside unless the temperature is below 17 degrees, or, of course, rain or snow is pouring down.
  5. Make-up is not appropriate and is not allowed for elementary-age children. (D-11 student dress code).
  6. Young children should have a change of clothing at school in the event of accidents.
