Mann Positive Behavior
Support (PBS) is a method of teaching and improving
behavior. PBS focuses on prevention of inappropriate
behavior rather than consequences. PBS clearly
identifies systems, practices and data to improve
student behavioral outcomes. It includes a broad
range of systemic and individualized strategies for
achieving important social and learning outcomes
while preventing problem behavior with all students.
The matrix (see link below) outlines our
expectations of the “MANN 5” so that staff can keep
a consistent language across the building for
behavioral expectations.
Behavioral expectations include; be safe, be kind,
be positive, be responsible, and be respectful in
the classroom, hallway, and cafeteria. Mann also
uses consistent language for voice level
expectations (also included--see link below).
Students receive “Lancer Cards” for modeling
exemplary behavior according to the “Mann 5”. Lancer
Cards can be used weekly at the “Lancer Card Store”,
in the weekly raffle, or to play the game “Rock
Band” on the Wii during lunch. |
