students participated in an all-school writing prompt
"I'm Proud To Be An American." The two top writers
from each classroom were selected to read their essays and
were recognized at an assembly. Students were encouraged to
wear patriotic colors, red, white and blue. |

Java Reading Club

|
Students in Mrs. Kachel's
fourth grade class meet twice a week to sip their warm brews and
read together. They discuss the characters, events and write
reflections in their journals. Books are selected by interest from
a variety of genres. Mrs. Larkin, from Java Express, will come
once a month to serve hot chocolate, cider, and other warm drinks
to the students while they read. It's exciting to see students
want to read. They can't wait for the Java Book Club each
week. What a wonderful way to develop a life long love of
reading!
