On June 10th, things continue to happen inside and out. There will be an electrical transformer box outside first grade. Prep work is being done for the roof unit. The office is getting a new fire alarm system. The preschool bathroom is coming along. In the classrooms, the drywall is receiving a first coat of paint. The Media Center is keeping the old skylights as well as getting new windows. Check out those walls! (Photos by RTA Architects) The June 17th photos show that the rooms are really taking shape. What child wouldn't like to go to the ceiling of the gym to help with insulating the ductwork? Ceiling grids have to be place in the new classrooms. Because King is 25 years old, all the brickwork is being cleaned. Take a look at the VCT (vinyl composition tile) in the art room. That will make clean-up easier! There are new lighting fixtures and acoustical ceiling tiles (being delivered). As I looked at the parking lot, I wondered if you have to drive a pickup truck to be in construction. (Photos by RTA Architects) By looking at the June 24th photos, you can see that a lot is happening in the ceiling. Heating coils, projector mounting plates and more acoustic ceiling grids are being installed. The new acoustic ceiling tiles are being stored in the lounge. A kindergarten room is getting drywall and the new electrical distribution panel is taking shape outside the first grade classrooms. It has been a busy and productive month of June!
