  • Classroom teachers will administer the DIBELS benchmark assessment to all students in the fall, mid-year and in the spring. "Bubble" student will be identified and their reading progress will be measured via DIBLES assessment on a monthly basis.
  • All classrooms will implement routine "Read-and-Respond" strategies to improve students' reading comprehension.
  • Classroom teachers will implement a balanced literacy program that consists of flexible/guided reading groups, read-and-retell, shared and paired reading and use of available skill reinforcement software.
  • CQI strategies will be implemented to support student involvement in reading instruction.
  • Classroom teachers will implement and incentive program to promote reading at home. Students will be motivated to read outside of school as measured by 80% regular participation in the program.
  • Software programs (Success Maker and Read Naturally) will be implemented at Keller this year. Staff will be trained to implement this program.

  • All teachers will incorporate writing activities across the content areas.

Math

  • Teachers will increase the use of manipulatives to address D-11 mathematics standards.
