Introduction to Keller 4th Grade
Legendary Creatures Website
Some
things you have to believe to see – Anonymous
The Junior
Great Books series has a wonderful Scottish folktale retold by
Winifred Finlay entitled, “The Water-Horse of Barra.” This tale
sparked the interest of my 4th graders into
researching the subject of legendary and mystical animals.
Brainstorming a list of such beasts and beings, students’ chose
one creature to investigate further. Chinese dragons, Griffins,
The Phoenix, and Pegasus are a sampling of what caught their
eye.
Each student has
written a tale for you to enjoy, providing a picture, music, and
a movie that each has created. So, sit down with your child
with a cup of tea or some dragon stew and smile at their word
smithing and imagination. Click on the link to experience each
student’s story . . . become a kid again!
