Research Journal Format
Directions: Each day you are in the Media Center for research, you will should spend the last couple of minutes completing a journal which reflects what you have done during the class period, and where you need to start tomorrow. The purpose of the journal is to get you to see what you have accomplished and where you have to go, and to give yourself and your teacher the chance to see how you are progressing with your research project. On a separate sheet of notebook paper, please answer the following questions for each journal entry:
1. What I did in the library today: (Be specific – did you read, take notes, look for materials- tell what you read, what kind of notes you took, where you looked for materials).
2. What I did today that will help me the most with my research paper:
3. Frustrations or problems or concerns I have about my research paper:
4. What I could be working on tonight for my paper:
5. What my goals for tomorrow’s research are:
Don’t forget to hand
a journal in at the end of each class period.
This is a graded assignment, and an important part of the research
process.
