Dear Parent/Guardian:
The Colorado legislature approved and put into law a requirement that students recite the Pledge of Allegiance each day in all Colorado public schools. The state statute does, however, provide for an exemption for religious objectors as well as any other reason if parents/guardians request this exemption in writing. This written request should be addressed to the principal of your child(ren)’s school(s).
If you wish to request an exemption, you may draft a letter or simply complete the information below and return it to the Main Office at Jenkins MS.
I appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Ken Potman
Principal
