D/HH Program Mission Statement
The Colorado Springs School District 11 Elementary Program for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing will provide every student with an individualized program based on the specific needs of each child. We offer both an auditory-oral and a Total Communication approach to learning. The integration of auditory training/learning, speech production training, intense oral and written language instruction, along with simultaneous use of Signing Exact English (SEE) presents each student with the opportunity to perform to his or her full potential. District 11 also provides a continuation of services for students who are deaf/hard of hearing at the middle school and high school levels.
