WE LOVE JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY!

   Jefferson Elementary School is a small (32,299 sq. ft.) neighborhood school, built in 1956 on the eastern side of Colorado Springs.  The school enrollment includes Preschool-5th grade, and is also a Deaf\Hard of hearing site for CSSD11.  The school is built on 8 acres, and adjoins Jefferson Park on the North side.

What Makes Jefferson Special?

  • Small neighborhood school within walking distance for all students (with the exception of the students in the ESL and D\HH Programs.)
  • Caring staff who demonstrates the importance of each individual student.
  • Center-based program for children who are Deaf and hard of hearing in District 11 and surrounding districts.
  • Two classes of blended preschool for ages three and four.
  • Crossing guards at major thoroughfares.
  • Teachers trained in Six-Trait Writing Model, Step-Up-To-Writing, and Guided Reading for a balanced literacy focus.

Adult supervision on school grounds begins NO EARLIER than 7:30 A.M.  For their own safety, please do not drop off students early, unless they are coming for breakfast (7:30 AM).  We also have an on-site child care provider which you may use if children arrive early or late.
