Course Description:  This course aligns to the latest recommendations of the National Teachers of Mathematics, the Colorado State Mathematics Standards and 10th Grade Frameworks, and District 11 curriculum alignment guide. It follows the approach of making mathematics relevant by using math skills in a problem solving environment. This course is a formal study of the geometric properties of the Euclidean plane and selected topics in three-dimension space. Students use calculators, computers, and manipulatives to study the property of shapes and forms. They will use inductive and deductive reasoning, and transformational and coordinate geometry in a formal way to study polygons and polyhedral and their algebraic descriptions. There may be additional work required to enrich the geometry topics. Calculators are recommended for this course. (12/94, 12/06)
