 Math Essentials 2
Prerequisite: Teacher Placement Only
Course Description:  Math Essentials conforms to the latest recommendations of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM standards). It follows the approach of making mathematics relevant by using skills in a problem solving environment. This course is designed for students who have not demonstrated mastery of basic math skills. Topics include operations on whole numbers, integers, percents, and rational numbers. Measurement, geometry, statistics and probability with real world applications will be covered. Students may use computers, calculators, and manipulatives for course work. No credit will be given to students who have received credit for Algebra, Algebra with Computers, Integrated Algebra/Geometry, IMP or the equivalent. This course will not satisfy college entrance requirements (CCHE). (12/94, 12/06)
