Course Name: Calculus AB 2 AP
Prerequisite: Functions/Trigonometry, Math Analysis/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus or teacher recommendation.
Course Description:
This course deals with the fundamental concepts of algebra focusing on those topics related to evaluating expressions and solving equations. Topics include linear and quadratic algebra, systems of equations, graphing, inequities, radicals and real numbers, functions (to include exponential and polynomial), probability and statistics and introductory geometry. Students will develop algebraic concepts and skills through a problem solving and investigative approach using a blend of technology related tools and paper and pencil problem solving skills. This course aligned to the latest recommendations of the National Teachers of Mathematics, the Colorado State Mathematics Standards and Frameworks, and District 11 curriculum alignment guide. No credit will be given to students who have received credit for this course or any other intervention or equivalent Algebra course. A scientific calculator is required and/or a graphing calculator is recommended. (9/00, 12/06)
