Course Name: Senior Lit: Composition 122
Prerequisite: English 5, 6 or equivalent
Course Description:
This course is designed for college-bound seniors who
wish to expand their critical thinking skills through reading and writing
of selected works by significant writers. The course includes a minimum
of five multi-paragraph compositions which will include expressive,
informative, analytical, evaluative, and persuasive writing. If, at
the onset of the course, a student has an English ACT score of 20, SAT
score of 400, or qualifies through PPCC English placement exam, the
student may earn concurrent credit of three (3) semester hours of
Freshmen Composition 121 and three (3) semester hours of Freshmen
Composition 122 through Pikes Peak Community College.
This course expands and refines the objectives of Senior Literature 1.
Emphasis is placed on critical and logical thinking, problem definition,
research strategies, and writing analytical, evaluative, and or
persuasive papers that incorporate research. (12/94)
