Principal Message
Dear Parent and Guardians,
Thank you for your efforts preparing your children for school each and every day.
Please
continue to be attentive to your children’s progress as the end of the year
approaches. Continue your dialogue with your children about the school day. Use
questions such as “How was your day?” “Tell me about it.” “Do you have
homework?” What is your homework?” What was the best part of your day?”
“Who did you sit with for lunch?” “Who did you play with at recess?”
“What did you play?” These are just ideas for starting the conversation each
day. Hopefully your children are starting these conversations themselves. If you
or your student
initiates the conversation as soon as you see your children each day, it will
become part of a daily, “scheduled” event.
Keep in contact with your children’s teachers
and encourage your students to finish the year maintaining their hard word and
dedication to their education. Your children will notice when you are in contact
with
their teachers—and when their teachers know who you are!
Remember that April 24th is an Assessment Day so there is no regular school. April 24th is also Kindergarten registration. Mark you calendars for May 15 as well, as it is our last conference day.
For the safety of all of our students, the doors to the
school continue to remain locked during the school day. If you come to school during
the day, please go to the Front
entrance (Moreno Street). Everyone will be
required to enter via the Front entrance. This includes parents, community
members, visitors, volunteers, and district employees. Everyone must report to
the office, sign in, and receive a visitor’s badge. Everyone must sign out
in the office as well.
Although this
process may take more time and effort, it is designed to address concerns for
the safety of our students. This procedure is uniform throughout the school
district.
Since the School Board has made their decisions regarding school closures, watch for information regarding how things will change at Hunt next year. Watch for scheduled events to help bring our communities together as we consolidate several school communities.
Thanks for your support throughout the school year..
