Principal Message
Dear Parent and Guardians,
We
have had an excellent start to the new school year. Thank you for your efforts
to prepare your children for the start of school.
Please
continue to be attentive to your children’s progress as the academic year
evolves. Continue your dialogue with your children about the school day. Use
questions such as “How was your day?” “Tell me about it.” “Do you have
homework?” What is your homework?” What was the best part of your day?”
“Who did you sit with for lunch?” “Who did you play with at recess?”
“What did you play?” These are just ideas for starting the conversation each
day. Soon your children will start the conversations themselves. If you can
initiate the conversation as son as you see your children each day, it will
become part of a daily, “scheduled” event.
Make yourself
known to your children’s teachers. Your children will notice when you greet
their teachers—and when their teachers know who you are!
Parent conferences are during the week of October 23rd.
Please make sure you have a conference with your child’s teacher.
For the safety of all of our students, the doors to the
school will remain locked during the school day. If you come to school during
the day, please go to the Front
entrance (Moreno Street). Everyone will be
required to enter via the Front entrance. This includes parents, community
members, visitors, volunteers, and district employees. Everyone must report to
the office, sign in, and receive a visitor’s badge. Everyone must sign out
in the office as well.
Although this
process may take more time and effort, it is designed to address concerns for
the safety of our students. This procedure is uniform throughout the school
district.
In the interest of safety for all of our students, please
observe these procedures when you visit the school.
Thanks for being here.
