District 11 now offers an online program for students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Students attend the Learning Center at Audubon Elementary one day per week for enrichment activities in music, art, and science while attending online classes in Spanish, math, reading and writing, social studies, science, PE/nutrition, art, and music. Lesson plans are written by D11 teachers and D11 provides all textbooks and workbooks. Students receive D11 credit for all classes completed. At this time, enrollment is limited to D11 students. Contact the Learning Center at 520-2216 for more information and enrollment materials or e-mail britenj@d11.org

D11 has developed a program exclusively for homeschooling families. The Home Education Support Program offers one day of classes, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday for students in grades K-8, Saxon Math, and a lending library stocked with the most popular homeschool materials. This program is open to all homeschool families whether or not they live in D11 boundaries. Classes includes: Hands-on Science, Art, Music, and an Enrichment Lab.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment allows homeschool students to participate in District 11 public school programs on a part-time basis. Families may choose to supplement their homeschooling through their child’s attendance at any District 11 school’s instructional program such as reading, math, art, music or foreign language.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

To enroll in the Dual Enrollment program the student must have a current Notice of Intent to homeschool on file and agree to participate for a minimum of 90 hours of school based instruction per semester. This averages just over one hour per day. Dual Enrollment is accomplished by meeting with the principal of the school of choice. Dual Enrollment students will be required to produce immunization records, verify birth date, complete the emergency information card, and agree to school behavioral norms. Dual Enrollment opportunities are approved on a space available basis by the building principal.
