SARA JANE WILLHOIT
PALMER HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 1997

Several District 11 Faculty and Staff profoundly impacted my life. Teachers, in particular, motivate and develop District 11 students into well-rounded positive contributors to the community of Colorado springs and around the world. As children we are very much shaped by our surroundings. The diversity found in District Eleven schools in uncommon in Colorado. From that diversity comes tolerant, multi-culturally educated individuals.

Jay Engalen (Principal of Palmer High) and Dr. John Kistler (IB US Government Instructor at Palmer) both significantly impacted my life. Both of these individuals are tremendous instructors and serve as the perfect roll model for students.
Dr. Kistler's knowledge and understanding of US government and foreign relations sparked my initial intrigue with military service and diplomacy. I contribute much of my current success to those "sparks."

I currently a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. I fly F-14 Tomcats, and am deployed aboard the United States AirCraft Carrier Harry S. Truman.
