Bio:
Hello! My name is
LouAnn Matous, and I am the Speech/Language Pathologist here at
Freedom. This is my fifth year with District 11. In my 16th
year of teaching, I love working as a Speech/Language Pathologist with
students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. I am a native of North
Dakota, where I attended school in a small rural town. In 1992, I
received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders from Minot
State University. I continued my studies there to receive my Master’s
Degree in Communication Disorders in 1993. I taught Speech/Language at
Minot Air Force Base for 11 years, before moving to Colorado Springs
four years ago with my family.
My husband, Danny,
retired from the Air Force in 2008, and we just celebrated our 21st
anniversary. We have three wonderful daughters, Chelsey (18), Kaley
(15), and Whitney (13). When I am not at school, I enjoy reading,
scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. I can often be found in
the stands at local middle and high school competitions (volleyball,
basketball, track, golf), cheering loudly for my girls!
I am a proud
resident of the Wagon Trails Community, and enjoy seeing my students and
their families out and about in our community (practicing their speech
and language skills of course!).
