Bio:
Hello, my name is Leslee
Kruse and I teach fourth grade at this very special school. This will be
my 3rd year teaching fourth grade. I think fourth graders
are amazing!
I have MANY years of teaching
experience at all grade levels Kindergarten through Sixth grade. I am actually a
product of the D-11 school system; I graduated for General William Mitchell high
School in 1974. I began my college education at UCCS, and then transferred to
Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. There I earned my BA in education
with a K-9 teaching certificate, as well as enough credits for a major in
Science.
I am definitely a life- long
learner and have continued improving my teaching skills with graduate work in
language studies with an emphasis on communication disorders, as well as a
variety of teaching method classes updating me on all the “Best Practices” in
education. An interesting fact about me is that one summer I was selected to
write curriculum for the National Science Foundation. I worked with many highly
qualified educators to develop and field test the latest in Science curriculum,
it was a fascinating experience.
I have been married for 28
years. My husband Stan and I just celebrated our anniversary. I have two
wonderful children that are both newly married, so my family is growing! I enjoy
living in Colorado, the biking and hiking doesn’t get any better.
Most of all I love investing my
time and energy in the lives of children. Children are the future and Freedom
Elementary is prepared to develop 21st century learners. What a
privilege it is to serve the children of Freedom.
