Bio:
Carrie Gagnon
It
is a privilege to be part of such a wonderful team to open Freedom Elementary.
My work history includes working in the medical field, forestry, and business.
By far, I enjoy teaching the most. Having taught in District Eleven for seven
years I’ve often heard the slogan “knowledge is power”. At Freedom we are
empowering our students for a wonderful future.
I value being a well rounded person and
continue to educate myself. My degrees/license include a BS in Human
Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University, two-year program
in Elementary Education for a Teacher’s License from Metropolitan State
University, and a Masters in Technology in Education from Lesley University.
I’m qualified to teach all four core areas from Kindergarten through High
School. Yet, I’m also a soccer mom who loves camping, hiking, gardening,
crafts, being an animal trainer, and so much more. My love for travel was
developed as I grew up in a military home. By the time I was in sixth grade, I
had traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe and attended
nine elementary schools. I can certainly relate to being the new kid on the
block, which this year we get the unique experience of everyone being new to our
school.
I’m looking forward to a fantastic year
with our fifth graders.
