Bio:|
I grew up in Alamo, CA, started college at
UC Santa Barbara, met one of my brother’s friends, a fellow cadet at West Point
(US Military Academy), got married and saw the world as an Army wife. We have
lived in Germany twice, Australia (the BEST tour), and various parts of the US.
My husband retired a few years ago and works as a defense contractor. We built
a home here in Colorado Springs and have filled it with assorted naughty dogs
and our 3 sons, on occasion. Our eldest, Ian, is married, and recently
completed 6 years in the US Army-including 3 combat tours to Iraq and
Afghanistan. He’s pursuing an engineering degree. Middle son, Kyle, is a
graduate of Mitchell High, and is currently a LT in the Colorado Guard and
anticipating flight school soon. Youngest son, Ben, is a graduate of Palmer
High’s IB program, he will be graduating this summer from the US Merchant Marine
Academy. Our family loves Colorado because of all the great things to do-ski,
sail, hike, bike, etc.
My Bachelor of Science degree is in General
Studies from Columbus State Univ., in Columbus, GA. I obtained my Masters in
Education degree from Lesley Univ., in Cambridge, MA. I have been teaching in
D11 since 2000, this is my 11th year of teaching. I love working
with children. Teaching allows me to connect with children and families-and the
reward is helping those students grow in confidence as they set their future
goals.
