I am Tara Kamnikar-Smith, the Assistant Principal at Freedom Elementary. I am at Freedom only half-time as I am also the Assistant Principal at Will Rogers Elementary. I am available at Freedom on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and the second and fourth Fridays of every month. Of course, you can always e-mail or call and I will get back to you promptly.
I have been in education for 14 years. I taught in Moore, Oklahoma for two years, and have been in Colorado Springs District Eleven for 12 years. I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grades. I have also worked as a building LRT (Literacy Resource Teacher) and a District 11 Data Coach.
I am a parent of three awesome children, Michael, Tyler, and Alison, and a big yellow lovable Labrador. Skiing, reading, playing sports, working out and being a spectator of my children’s sporting events are my hobbies. I am also a big football and hockey fan. Go Broncos! Go Avs!
