I am originally from Toledo, Ohio and spent my entire childhood in Toledo!  I attended Bowling Green State University and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work.  After graduation, I worked as a YMCA professional aquatics director for 6 years in Kernersville, North Carolina.  I met my husband, Scott, in NC and we were married a long time ago.  My husband spent 31 years in the military and we officially quit moving around the world last year.  I have two children – Morgan who is a senior at Liberty High School and a state swimmer, and my son Thomas who is an 8^th grader at Timberview Middle School.  Thomas is also a swimmer and a very active Boy Scout – he is a Life Scout and preparing to begin his Eagle Project.  I received my Masters of fine Arts in Teaching from Salem College, and have been teaching for almost 13 years.  I am passionate about making sure that children are involved in their own learning, and that school is a place that is safe, nurturing and will help them along their journey to being productive citizens!
