The Mission of Freedom Elementary Media Center

The mission of the Freedom Elementary Media Center is to support student achievement by providing a welcoming and accessible environment, collaborating with teachers to integrate technology and information literacy skills into instruction, and advocating literacy to arm student with the skills necessary for success in the 21st century.  We will do this by helping teachers teach, always serving our community with their research and       technology needs,  and continued performance in a school leadership role.

  Power Libraries Program

The Power Libraries Program is a statewide program designed to bring recognition to the role that school library media programs and staff play in promoting student achievement.

The focus is on developing and promoting quality school library media programs and practices  that help students meet standards. This program is administered by the Colorado State Library and funded by the Library Services and Technology Act.

Research shows that well-staffed, well-stocked media centers can contribute to CSAP scores that are as much as 18% higher than in those schools without such programs.

We at Freedom are proud to be designated as a power library!
