I am originally from El Paso, Tx. I received a Bachelor of Music in Applied Piano Performance from the University of Texas at El Paso.  I also received Music Education Certification for all levels K-12.  I have a Texas Teaching Certificate, and a Colorado Professional Teaching License in Music Education all levels. I taught piano lesson for many years in Texas and in Colorado. I am presently doing an online Masters of Music Education through Boston University.

This will be my 18th year teaching music education.  The first twelve years I taught at Divine Redeemer School.  I taught grades K-8 and planned performances that included Christmas Programs, Spring Programs, Colorado Day Programs, as well as Musical Theatre at the middle school level.  My favorite performances included "Treasure Island", "Lewis and Clark", and "Fiddler On the Roof "Jr.

The next four years I spent in Harrison School District 2 at Fox Meadow Middle School.  I was the Vocal Music Director.  I had a 75 member choir and we performed several concerts a year including a visit to Elitch's Choral Festival.  Other musical performances included a Talent Show and a Solo concert with participants of the Solo and Ensemble festival. In 2003 I was awarded two Harrison District  PRIDE awards for "Making a Difference" in the music program at Fox Meadow.

Last year I spent a very musical year at Martinez Elememtary.  I had a 4th and 5th grade choir that performed a Holiday Winter concert, and participated in the District Elementary Choir Festival that was shown on Channel 16. 3rd graders performed and African theme musical called "Welcome to the Jungle" and the 4th graders performed a musical called "Go West" that has also been televised by Channel 16. The 5th graders performed a talent show as well.

In 2006, I was named in the "Who's Who of American Women" book and in 2006, I was named in the "Who's Who of American Educator's" book. I love to accompany.  I played two musicals at St. Mary's High School that included Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" and "Singing In The Rain."

I have a 19 year son who will be in his second year at Regis University in Denver, CO. He is studying History and Elementary Education.  My husband is a senior software engineer with Harris corporation.

I love teaching music as well as good movies, Broadway musical concerts, sewing and shopping.  I am very excited to be at Freedom and am looking forward to being with the kids and having fun musical experiences.
