The district operates a
central warehouse for the distribution of selected stocked items (primarily
paper products, instructional materials, custodial supplies and food service
support); receipt of bulk items; receipt and marking of electronic equipment
(computers, printers, projectors, cameras and other AV equipment over $500);
the redistribution or disposal of excess equipment, furnishings and
materials.
Over the past four
years, the warehouse has increased the stocked inventory, saving the
district thousands of dollars compared to the to the just-in-time delivery
method. Volume buying has created lower prices that are equal to or below
the state bid pricing.
The warehouse is
staffed by one manager, one work leader and four warehousemen/drivers.
