Doherty High School
Doherty captured most of
their $2,605.77 “Energy Dollars” in Tier Two. Credit is due in large part to the
efforts of Building Manager, Michael O’Brien. Actual utility costs were 21.67%
under budget. Thank you Michael O’Brien and Doherty’s building staff. Their
efforts are listed below.
1.
Michael O’Brien, Building Manager, is passionate about energy
conservation; he leads by example and instills an energy conservation attitude
in the member of his team.
2.
Michael is spearheading efforts to raise energy conservation awareness
among administrators, staff and students at Doherty.
3.
Mike O’Brien worked with RCM team to reduce HVAC operating schedules.
4.
Building Technicians “team clean” areas of the school so that hallway and
classroom lights in the areas where they are not working can be turned off. They
shutdown as much equipment as possible during the summer.
5.
Building Technicians clean in the summer without air conditioning.
6.
During holiday breaks teachers turn off
lights and computers and unplug equipment.
