Summer Break Shutdown

Re:                  Summer Break Shutdown – May 23rd thru August 19th   

Participation in this year’s Summer Break Shutdown and timely completion of this checklist will be worth $125.00 toward your school’s fall/winter energy conservation incentive award.  

Building Managers please instruct your night technician to FAX this checklist back to the RCM office on Friday, May 23rd at the end of their work shift, with all four Signatures.  (Fax # 477-6065). CHECK LISTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED EARLY OR LATE OR FROM THE PONY SYSTEM! 

Principals: 

Principals please make a school wide announcement reminding teachers and staff to complete the following tasks prior to vacating the building for the Summer Break: 

q      Turn off all classroom and office lights, unplug classroom and office equipment, photocopiers, coffee makers, tape recorders, etc., please clean out and unplug personal refrigerators, and shut down computers.

Coordinators of Information and Technology please oversee computer shutdown activities prior to vacating the building for the Summer Break: 

q              Shutdown all computers, monitors, printers, speakers, etc. Report any problems to TISS.

Building Managers: 

Building Managers please oversee shutdown activities and instruct night crew to complete the following tasks prior to vacating the building for the Summer Break: 

q            Coordinate shutdown activities and ensure all four signatures are on the shutdown checklist. 

q            Should unplug from timers, all vending machines that will not be in use over the break. 

q            Should “Team Clean” one area of the school with lights on at a time, so that lights can be turned off in other areas.  

q            Should turn off non-essential exhaust fans (see building use guide maps).
