be the target area. Teacher implementation will be monitored with the
use of weekly principal walk throughs focusing on small group (5-6 students)
instruction, the use of graphic organizers, and by charting asessment
administration. |

Type here. Tier I- All students will receive daily a 90 minute
reading block following readers’ workshop format which will include guided
reading instruction in small flexible differentiated groups of 5-6 students.
Reading instruction will be aligned with the school adopted McMillan McGraw Hill
reading series and will also include shared reading, teacher read aloud,
vocabulary instruction, and phonic/word instruction. Graphic organizers will be used to increase
students’ comprehension. Success Maker and Tier II- Students will be grouped in flexible skill
based 30-45 minute intervention/tutoring groups during their reading block to
receive additional direct reading instruction following the McMillan McGraw Hill
Triumphs intervention series, Orton Gillingham strategies, and Reading
Recovery strategies. Success Maker
will also be used by Tier II students.
ELL students will receive 30-45 minute intervention instruction during
the reading block from our ELL teacher.
Tier III-Additional small group skill based
instruction in addition to the 90 minute reading block. ELL small group instruction will also be
provided in addition to the 90 minute reading block. GT- Differentiated cluster classroom instruction will
occur one day per week push in or pullout instruction with gifted resource
teacher. |
