Grade 3 - 5 , Basketball Unit |
|
Overview
Basketball is a fast paced game that is exciting to watch or play. Basketball was invented in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith while he lived in Springfield, Mass.
He hung up peach baskets at each side of the gym and they tried to score points by shooting the ball into the basket. Today, basketball is a very popular sport. During this
unit, we will gain a deeper understanding of fundamental basketball skills and how to apply them in a game-like situation. Additionally, we will learn the rules and history
of basketball. At the end of this unit, we will take a skills assessment and a written test to demonstrate what you have learned.
