Introduction to Teaching Through Teacher Cadet
Course Number: CF.CADET1

Overview
View the Video Introduction. You will be involved in a fast paced, innovative, hands-on curriculum where they gain knowledge about teaching and learning. You will develop and master effective skills that will be helpful in college and beyond, such as presentation, public speaking, writing, computer skills, communication and reasoning skills. This is a yearlong honor's elective where you will make a difference with children as you "try out" teaching in a "mini-student teaching" experience.  For more statewide information see www.coloradoteachercadet.com
Prerequisite: Meets course qualifications or teacher approval
Course Length: 2  Semesters  Grade Level:  11-12  Credit per Semester: 1 Academic Elective

College Connection:  Various community and four-year universities offer articulation credit to students with a B or better in Teacher Cadet.  The CU system offers one hour of field experience credit. UCCS also offers you the opportunity to concurrently enroll in Educational Psychology, using regular assigned work from Teacher Cadet.  UNC offers Teacher Cadets credit for STEP 161 (2) and EDF 366 (4) classes. CCCS signed a state-wide articulation agreement in the fall of 2007 that offers an opportunity to receive credit for the elementary Intro to Education course.

Reading Writing
