High School and Middle School Art teachers:

I was able to attend the workshop on Scholastics at the CAEA Conference this year. I am hoping that all of our high schools in D-11 will participate in Scholastics this year. There have been some changes to the portfolio submission. Here are the key points:
-7th-12th grade
-Digital Portfolio this year for Art & Photography -All entries must be registered online @ www.artandwriting.org -Animation, video and film must be submitted on a DVD -Theme is key when submitting a portfolio -Titles are important!
-Nudes are allowed
-a letter of recommendation from art teacher
- an artist’s statement from each student (have them start working on this ASAP)

-Each teacher can submit the following amount of work:
a. 10 individual pieces up to 19 individual pieces (9 from the 3 portfolios) if the 9 extra are part of the 3 portfolios b. 3 portfolios (8 original artworks) -There is a fee for entries unless your student is on the free lunch program

I have attached the flyer with all of the due dates, and info on a workshop for anyone interested that will be held @ RMCAD this year. They will be teaching how to photograph artwork etc. I should be a great opportunity!
