District 11 Educational Support Services
District 11 Arts Event
Middle School Honor Choir

The Middle School Honor Choir is a select group of students chosen from the eight District 11 Middle Schools.  Students audition for this event by submitting an audition tape to their choir teacher.  If selected, the students will then participate in three after school rehearsals, a full day chorale clinic, an evening concert and a concert tour of middle schools in the district.  This concert will be professional recorded and CD's will available for purchase.  The concert will also be recorded for viewing on Comcast Channel 16.  The viewing schedule can be found on the District 11 homepage in the red panel under Channel 16.

This year's Conductor is Mrs. Lynn Branford and the Accompanist is Ms. Kristin Robbins

A note from Mrs. Branford
Dear Jeff, Stacia, Kristi, Deb, Lori, Joseph, David, Joe and Kristin,

A BIG thank you and kudos to each of you, and all of your singers :>) I really enjoyed working with your kids in the Middle School Honor Choir last week. I appreciate all of the work that went into that endeavor - the audition process, the Tuesday rehearsals, shirt ordering, program preparation, tour details, etc. Because your singers were well-prepared, I think we were able to "make music." I hope that this Middle School Honor Choir was/will be an encouragement for them to continue their singing! I hope that it was a good experience for your singers - and for you as directors.

When you kids return from their Thanksgiving holiday, please thank and congratulate your singers (again) for me. I look forward to seeing them involved in many more music activities.

Kristin and Lori, thank your for accompanying :>)

On a more personal note, it was such fun for me to connect (and/or re-connect) with many of you. Middle school is a challenging age to work with, and you all are doing such a good job! As you launch into the "crazed" part of the Christmas season, I trust that you know how important your music-making is with/ to these "cherubs." You really are helping to shape them as people, and the "gift of music" that they are learning will be something special to many of them for their whole lives.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Lynn Branford
