Each year the Colorado Springs Rotarians sponsor an event that honors Rotary Champions.  Schools from around El Paso and Teller Counties nominate one student-athlete from each sports category offered at each school.  
The student-athlete needs to excel: academically (minimum 3.0 GPA); athletically: as a citizen (community service); and, as a leader. The Rotarians select a medallion winner in each of the sports as well as an overall male and female student-athlete of the year.

Thirty-two schools participated this year. Doherty was represented in 21 of the 24 sports categories.   In the past, Doherty has won our fair share of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medallions--even winning Overall Awards.  Garrett Fiddler was our most recent overall winner, in 2007. Spartans won SIX medallions!
