ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

This course is designed to enhance the students’ abilities to use new technology beyond the basic computer literacy/application levels. Emphasis will be placed on advanced technology uses to include multimedia development and design of presentation methods using a variety of media, knowledge and use of research databases, and simulations developed to maximize the integration of technology resources. There will also be units on PDAs and Voice Recognition.
KEYBOARDING

This course is designed for individuals who want to use the keyboard for personal communication. Students learn the touch system of keying for use on either the typewriter or computer. Emphasis is placed on learning to format personal papers including short reports, outlines, manuscripts and personal business letters. College credit is available upon completion of course, with an A or B grade, and exam.
COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

Prerequisite: None
Students will develop necessary skills for proper handling and operation of the computer. This course is designed for students who do not wish to program the computer. Practical applications for personal and business, using Office 2000, are stressed in the areas of data entry (keyboarding), money management, word processing, graphic design and spreadsheet. Additional capabilities of the computer will be explored through the use of various peripherals. College credit is available upon completion of course, with an A or B grade, and exam.
