Swim team wins Academic All-State Award

Our Peak Performers All Area Wrestling Team were Jared Rieck,Carter McElhany,and Wade Lehman 1st Team. Nathan Burak 2nd Team, and Riley Ehrlich, Nick Burghardt, Steve Varga, and Ethan Olson were Honorable Mention's.

Cross Country Update

Girl's JV Tennis Team
This week the JV girl's tennis team defeated the Rampart Rams 6-1 and Sand Creek High School 7-0. The team now has a record of 7-1. Great job Ladies!

Boys and Girls Track Team
Congratulations to the Coronado Track and Field team that participated in the 2008 John Tate Challenge Cup in Pueblo. LaTraia Scott finished first in both th 100 and 200 meter dash. La Traia tied a 19 year old school record in the 100 meter dash and also qualified for state. on the male side, Marvin McChriston qualified for state in the triple jump and David Mueller was named the meet MVP after winning the 100, 200, 400 and anchoring the 1st place 4X200 relay team, also consisting of Patrick Ballard, Bruno Kynchalla and Travvis Scott. Overall, the boys team finished first by edging Pueblo South.

Summer Baseball
Coronado summer baseball for 8th and 9th graders committed to Coronado or pre-registered, will hold tryouts at Holmes Middle School on April 17th at 4:00 p.m. Contact Coach Peterson with questions at 290-2095.

Swimmers complete fantastic season
Congratulations to swimmers Catherine Bradley, and Kali Allison (new school record holder) who both com-
peted in the 100 Breaststroke at the State 5A meet. The Cougars also qualified for State in the 200 medley
relay, 200 free relay, and the 400 free relay. The relay members included; Morgan Dewitt, Taylor Kay, Katy
Martinez and Alexis Rodarmel. The 2008 Swimmin’ Women won the D11 division of the Metro League, and
finished in fourth place at the CSML Championships. Thanks, Coach Busovsky for a fine season.

Wrestlers Finish 2nd at Regionals and 9th at State Championships

The wrestling team, coached by Matt Brickell, once again proved Coronado to be among Colorado’s best
wrestling programs. After going undefeated in the CSML, the Cougars placed second in the Region I meet.
The following Regional Champions also placed at the State Championship meet: Jared Reick 103 2 nd place,
Carter McElhany 119 3 rd place and Wade Lehman 160 6 th place.

Boys Basketball finishes 3rd in CSML
Congratulations to coach Dan Hugill and the Coronado Boys Basketball team for finishing 3 rd in the CSML.
The Cougars played five top ten teams in their first seven games. #1 Denver East needed overtime to defeat
the Cougars at home. Coronado finished the regular season winning seven of their last ten league games.
The boys host Legacy in the first round of the playoffs
on 2/27.

Remember, students must have the following paperwork completed before trying out for a sport.
· Current physical form signed front and back
· Blue emergency card signed front and back
· Student/Parent Athletic handbook and signed consent
· Paid sports fee
· These forms are available in the business office.

        game.
    6. Show a positive attitude in cheering, refraining from intimidation or negative cheering. Good sportsmanship is a positive effort.
