Congratulations Coronado Students and Staff!
Coronado High School Made AYP!
What does AYP mean?
Adequate yearly progress was set into motion with the "No Child Left Behind Act." Since this legislation, public school in Colorado must demonstrate yearly growth based on the academic achievement in core subjects which is measured by the CSAP and graduation rate. Test data is then reported by economic background, race, ethnicity, English proficiency and disability.
Schools are accountable for closing the gap between disadvantaged students and others. If a school is unable to show academic growth, it is place on academic watch technical assistance. If the school is unable to show growth, it is subject to loss of school funding, and more serious penalties.
Coronado High School's leadership, educators, and students have worked hard to hit the target of AYP . As the academic bar rises, we will continue to strive towards getting every student up and over with no one left behind.
