It seems impossible that it is already May and that we are
ending another school year. I know our seniors will agree that
their final year in high school has flown by. The calendar in
May is full, and we all wonder how we will get everything done by the end of the year.
Miraculously, we all manage to survive the hectic pace of the last few weeks. Please
refer to this newsletter for a complete listing of events.
Thank you for your patience this year during our construction. I know that the parking
lot has been especially challenging for students, staff and parents. The sounds of
construction have been with us throughout the year, but we can see the daily progress
being made on our new auditorium and are very excited to see the transformation. It
will be a wonderful venue to showcase the talents of our students beginning next
year. We are all looking forward to the grand opening!
Speaking of talent, I want you to know that the students at Coronado continue to
amaze us with their accomplishments. We have had over 200 students come up to
our administrative offices this year to be congratulated for their outstanding performance
in academics, athletics, music, fine arts, video production, ngineering, leadership,
and community service. Additionally, we hear frequent comments from visitors
to Coronado about how impressed they are with our students. We are very proud of
all of our students.
Thank you for your involvement at school this year. Many of you are at Coronado
regularly, supporting your child's academic and extra-curricular endeavors and volunteering
your time. Our PTA continues to grow and thrive because of your efforts. Our
teachers put in countless hours beyond the school day preparing lessons, grading papers,
coaching, and sponsoring the many clubs, ompetitions, and organizations that
make high school a rich experience for students.
Seeing these young people change and grow over the four years is always rewarding,
especially as we watch our seniors come across the stage at graduation. Thank you
students, staff, and parents for making this school year a memorable one.
Congratulations to the Class of 2008!
Sincerely,
Susan Humphrey
