Dear Present and Potential Corporate Advertising
Partner:
Colorado Springs School District 11 is pleased
to continue its Corporate Advertising Partnership Program to
generate much-needed funds for our schools. This program
has been in existence since 1993, and is used as a model
throughout the world.
We are the largest school district in the Pikes
Peak region and draw pupils from throughout the community
because of our focus on continuous improvement in student
achievement, capital projects, technology implementation and
community partnerships.
When District 11 voters approved a mill levy
override in 2000 and a general obligation bond in 2005, they
also approved spending plans that spell out specifically how
these additional funds will be allocated to support student
achievement and help build a better, stronger school district.
The mill levy override funds will provide significant, but not
unlimited, resources. District 11 still has unfunded items
on a priority needs list in the event that additional funding
becomes available.
Obviously, Corporate Advertising Partners are a
significant part of our operation. The funds we receive
from your partnership are used to supplement our limited budget.
Through our advertising program, schools have been able to fund
instructional supplies, musical instruments, scholarships,
educational field trips, and tutoring and mentoring programs.
Our community has received our advertising
program very positively. School District 11 developed a
policy and regulations with parental and community involvement
to assure advertising is appropriate. Public service
messages, which display company logos, have been especially
popular with our community.
If you would like more information, Mrs. Elaine
Naleski, director of Communications and Community Relations,
(719) 520-2286, manages the program internally, including
approval of all proposed advertisements.
Thank you for taking the time to consider
supporting one of the best school districts in the nation
through participation in the Corporate Advertising Partnership
Program.
Sincerely,
Dr. Terry N. Bishop
Superintendent
